Position Summary:

This position will see patients at Madison UW Health Clinics and will provide clinical teaching for learners in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Additionally, this position may include patient care duties in UW Outreach Clinics and at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran's Hospital. Clinical research and/or academic service is also expected.

Principal Duties:

-Provide high quality patient care at the Madison UW Health Clinics.
-Develop and carry out patient care programs in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases including medical and surgical care.
-Participate in resident/medical student/fellowship education in the clinic and in the operating room.
-Develop a program of scholarly activity in one or more of the following: clinical and/or translation research; education/teaching; institutional leadership.
-Perform administrative duties as appropriate.
-Participate in professional, public and university service as appropriate.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD; Board Certified/Board Eligible in Ophthalmology

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Completion of residency training in a U.S. Ophthalmology Accredited Program required. Anterior segment experience is preferred. Candidates for Associate professor (CHS) or Professor (CHS) rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.

License or Certificate:

Wisconsin medical license, DEA license certification, credentialed with UW Health managed care plans, credentialing and staff privileges at UW Hospital must be completed by start date.

Additional Information:

There may be additional compensation from the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation, the clinical arm of UW Health. This position may include patient care duties in UW Outreach Clinics and at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran's Hospital.
