This position provides supervision and administrative support for the classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction for Zoology/Botany/Biology 151/153-152 (Introductory Biology I and II) within the Department of Integrative Biology. This includes supervising the team of faculty associates and instructional lab preparation staff for the courses, as well as supporting lecture, laboratory and discussion sections, assisting various faculty, staff, and teaching assistants for 200-900 enrolled undergraduate students each semester. This renewable, annual (12 month) position has significant supervisory, course development and assessment duties during the summer months.

Degree and Area of Specialization:
MS degree required. Ph.D. preferred. Degree should be in the biological sciences, a closely related field, or in education.
Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
3 years or more experience in biology instruction. Excellent supervisory, management, instruction, and communication skills. Proficiency in laboratory implementation and computer applications (word processing, database and spreadsheet programs, presentation software). Experience with educational technology, academic assessment, and web technology. Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and dedication to maintaining quality undergraduate biology education. Preferred: Knowledge of and familiarity with campus academic resources, including Canvas. Experience developing lab materials for online instruction.
