Position Summary:

The Department of Surgery, Division of Otolaryngology is seeking one to two exceptional board-certified or board-eligible otolaryngologists with fellowship training in pediatric otolaryngology to expand the pediatric team at UW Health's American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. Come explore this opportunity to work within an academic medical center in a busy pediatric-only practice. Our interdisciplinary team includes 4 other pediatric otolaryngologists, 2 pediatric nurse practitioners, audiology, speech-language pathology, nursing, and the 15-member UW otolaryngology resident team.

Principal Duties:

This is a comprehensive tertiary/quaternary inpatient and outpatient practice with a wide range of research, teaching, and clinical opportunities. American Family Children?s Hospital has 111-beds, which is attached to University Hospital, is a level 1 pediatric trauma center and pediatric burn center with a level 4 NICU, and amazing, brilliant colleagues in all medical and surgical pediatric subspecialty and primary care areas.

Academic responsibilities will include training residents, medical students, midlevel providers, speech pathologists and audiologists on clinical rotations. The ideal candidate will be encouraged to participate in academic pursuits including clinical trials, outcomes research and educational research. In addition, this position will work with and participate in medical student educational programs managed by the Department including 3rd and 4th year rotations, YEPSA, PDS 2 and 3, Lecture Series and other areas of interest. The successful candidate is expected to conduct a research program in pediatric otolaryngology.

The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD specializing in otolaryngology.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Board certified or board eligible in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Must have successfully completed a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology. Candidates for associate or full professor rank, must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion.

License or Certificate:

Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a Wisconsin Medical License.
Position may practice at affiliated Illinois location and require eligibility for an Illinois Medical License.
