Position Summary:

Provides technical expertise in a research, development, or scientific program. Designs, modifies, and adapts equipment to create unique systems in support of research, development, or instruction, involving, but not limited to, the disciplines of electronics, mechanical/thermal systems, optics, and/or computers.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree in physics or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

A minimum of 1 year relevant work experience in a physical science laboratory/research setting required.

Demonstrated knowledge of power systems, vacuum systems, laser systems, mechanical design, laboratory safety, high temperature plasma systems, and laboratory instrumentation.
