This position is responsible for performing a variety of general agricultural operations in our field and greenhouse spaces at the UW-Rhinelander Agricultural Research Station.

Previous agricultural research work experience is preferred
License or Certificate:
Valid Driver's License that meets UW Risk Management standards
Knowledge of basic greenhouse and farm operations
Ability to adhere to all sanitation and UW safety policies at RARS Ability to learn and utilize the proper method of cleaning with disinfecting agents Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions completely and in a detailed and timely manner Observe general work place safety practices and follow proper safety procedures Proper and safe use of garden, greenhouse tools, farm machinery and implements Proper and safe operation of motor vehicles, tractors, lawn mowers, utility vehicles, etc. Observe university, college, department, and station policies and work rules Perform work in adverse work conditions when necessary Ability to communicate and work well with others Ability to lift 50 lbs during planting and harvest Ability to operate a riding lawn mower and associated power tools, start and operate our disinfecting unit, obtain training to operate small tractors and forklift

Position is for part-time seasonal work from around the end of May/beginning of June to end of October.
General hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m., some overtime depending on workload, occasional weekend work (rotational watering schedule).
Appointment Type, Duration:
Terminal, 5 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding
Minimum $13.62 HOURLY Depending on Qualifications
