Position Summary:

This position serves as the primary administrative contact and academic program coordinator for the Masters in Financial Economics (MSFE). The MSFE is a joint degree between the Department of Economics in the College of Letters and Science and the Finance Department in the Wisconsin School of Business. This new degree program will welcome the inaugural class Fall 2021 semester.The first cohort is expected to be around 20 students. This position will be housed in the Department of Economics.

The MSFE Academic Program Coordinator plans, coordinates and administers recruiting, admissions, advising and social activities for prospective and current masters students. The MSFE academic program coordinator is a vital link between students and the Department of Economics and Wisconsin School of Business.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree required, master's degree in higher education, counseling, economics, or finance preferred.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

At least one year of experience working with students in a higher education setting is required. Experience in advising is preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to speak to large and small groups. Excellent analytical, oral, written and computer skills, including use of Excel and familiarity with at least one database software. Experience working with international students or living abroad strongly preferred.

Additional Information:

Be able to demonstrate through past experience an ability to work effectively and sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including people from foreign countries and non-native English speakers.
