The Assistant Director of Parking Services is responsible for the coordination and administration of an array of transportation-related services for the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus community which includes approximately 60,000 faculty, staff, and students and over 4.6 million visitors annually. Working under the general supervision of the Director of Parking Operations, the assistant director will take a leadership role in providing exceptional customer service and proactive, coordinated communication on behalf of the Transportation Services department. Will oversee the customer service, special events and marketing and communications team. Transportation Services has an annual budget more than $22 million. The assistant director provides leadership and direction for the department on campus parking operations issues, manages the resources, staff and budget of the department, and is responsible for policy and staff development, departmental communications, and coordination of departmental activities with customers of Transportation Services.
The Assistant Director is responsible for managing the external operations of the department to ensure efficient access to and through the University as well as communicating this information to the campus community. This position provides leadership and management guidance to departmental staff and ensures that transportation policies support the needs of the campus administration and other users, including student groups, neighbors of the University, vendors, coordinators of large conferences and conventions, and other customers. Primary duties include the management of special event parking, customer service and permit management, marketing/communications, and departmental policies.

|Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, public administration, or related field required. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
|Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:
Five+ years experience managing complex parking/transportation programs.
