Job Summary:

This position provides program support to the 4-H and youth development programs of the Division of Extension (Barron and Washburn Counties currently). Primary responsibilities include communications, database management, and project coordination for 4-H and youth development functions.

This new position will be an integral part of the UW-Madison Division of Extension and works alongside the people of Wisconsin to improve lives and communities. Extension serves the people and communities of Wisconsin by addressing local, statewide and national issues, improving lives through research-based education, fostering partnerships and action, and facilitating positive impacts.

This position is a part of the Division of Extension Positive Youth Development Institute, with a focus within the Wisconsin 4-H Extension Program. The Institute supports programs that contribute to the development of children, youth, and emerging adults who are healthy and productive, and who make a positive contribution to their communities.

The primary accountability relationship for this position is with the Area Extension Director.

Required:
1. Education and experience with standard office software programs.
2. Evidence of ability to communicate ideas effectively orally, in writing, and through educational technology
3. Strong organizational skills and attention to details
4. Evidence of effectively working independently and in a team environment
5. Ability and desire to learn and manage new technology platforms
6. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills demonstrated by ability to build and maintain professional work environments

Preferred:
1. Associates, Technical or Bachelor's degree
2. Capacity in wide range of communication tools and technical platforms such as: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud and various web browsers
3. Ability to develop and design high-quality, visually appealing graphic materials
4. Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of methods and technology
5. Experience prioritizing and executing complex, multifaceted projects
6. Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines and schedules while maintaining high quality work

1. The physical location of this position will be at the UW Extension Barron County office in Barron, WI. Office location and programming coverage is contingent on county funding support and location may be reassigned to align with county and Extension programming priorities;
2. This position has the potential to increase to full time (100%) in the future depending on funding and performance.
3. The primary accountability relationship for this position is the Area Extension Director (Area #2) for supervision, compensation and benefits and performance reviews;
4. Expectation to make arrangements for transportation adequate to meet position responsibilities and essential job functions;
