Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Chair, Vice Chair, Department Administrator, and Assistant Department Administrator, the incumbent will manage the post award portfolio and supervisor day-to-day activities of research administrative staff, for the Department of Neurology in the School of Medicine and Public Health. Responsibilities are driven as priorities arise.

Education:

Preferred
Associate's Degree
Accounting or closely related field such as business or finance preferred

Qualifications:

Required Experience:
- Experience working with complex accounting systems, software, and processes.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of Basic Accounting Principles and Practices and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in academic medical setting.
- Experience and knowledge of UW accounting system.
- Prior experience working in pre and post award, grant management or finance.
- Knowledge of and the ability to interpret state statutes, federal regulations, administrative rules, and university, college and department policies.
- Prior supervisory experience, specifically in grant management.

- Ability to interpret and apply complex rules and regulations.
- Professional and excellent interpersonal skills.
