The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks applications for BC/BE cardiologists to join a dynamic academic program, with opportunities to create a unique clinical practice and engage in teaching and clinical research at a world-class university.

Responsibilities: |
For appointments hired as Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor: Position responsibilities for patient care at UW Health locations, includes inpatient cardiovascular medicine service (to include coverage of the cardiac intensive care unit) and night call; outpatient cardiovascular service including echo, nuclear medicine, and stress testing; and coverage at regional sites based on the needs of the division. Responsibilities will also include providing clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.
For appointments hired as Assistant Professor (CHS) or Associate Professor (CHS): Position responsibilities for patient care at UW Health locations, includes inpatient cardiovascular medicine service and night call; outpatient cardiovascular service including echo, nuclear medicine, and stress testing; and coverage at regional sites based on the needs of the division. Responsibilities will also include providing clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. Time is expected to be spent on clinical research activities and academic service.
Cardiovascular Medicine provides faculty with ample opportunities for medical education and scholarship.

Education: |
Required Terminal Degree Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
|
Qualifications: |
Fellows are encouraged to apply. The candidate will be BC/BE in internal medicine and Cardiology. Additional training in critical care is ideal along with training in cardiac imaging (echocardiography +/- nuclear), a strong clinical background with demonstrated excellence in patient care and teaching, and a commitment to scholarly achievement.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
