Job Summary: |
The geneticist faculty will provide metabolic and general genetics pediatric patient care staffing clinics at the Waisman Center and metabolic call coverage at UW Health Kids-American Family Children's Hospital. Faculty will provide clinical teaching in biochemical genetics which could include chart reviews or didactic teaching to medical students, residents and fellows. Provide patient care and teaching to a variety of learners.

Responsibilities: |
Principal duties: - Provide pediatric patient clinical care. - Provide clinical teaching in biochemical genetics to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents and fellows. Teaching can occur within the classroom, small groups and lectures, as well as in the delivery of clinical care.

Required Terminal Degree MD, DO, or equivalent

Qualifications: |
Completion of US pediatric residency 3 - 5 year program.

License/Certification: |
Required PHYS - Physician Candidate is required to have or be eligible for a WI medical licensure
Required BCP - Bd Cert Pediatrics BC/BE in pediatrics

Having two position vacancy listings allows the School of Medicine and Public Health to consider clinical teacher faculty candidates with or without research credentials for this non-tenure-track position.
Candidates for associate or full professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CT track.
This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
