As part of a strategic hiring initiative, the College of Engineering is investing in hiring future leaders in the areas of robotics and automation, energy systems, and advanced materials and design. With this posting, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (https://engineering.wisc.edu/departments/civil-environmental-engineering) is searching for a mid-career faculty member at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with expertise in connected, automated, and electric transportation systems. We are interested in candidates with interdisciplinary expertise of technology development, applications, and development of fundamental theories and models. We particularly welcome expertise that is complementary and synergistic to domestic and international activities that CEE faculty have established.

Responsibilities: |
Applicants are expected to develop innovative and internationally recognized research programs, contribute to scholarly work in Civil and Environmental Engineering, undertake instruction in undergraduate and graduate classes, participate in faculty governance, and engage in department, university, professional, and public service. The successful candidate is expected to develop interactions with other faculty on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus including those within the College of Engineering and other colleges.

Education: |
Required PhD in Civil Engineering or closely related field and demonstrated excellence in research and teaching.

Qualifications: |
Exceptional academic track record of sponsored research, an outstanding reputation in the field of specialty, and a commitment to both undergraduate and graduate instruction is a primary requirement.
