The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan. One of 15 centers of its kind in the United States, the Waisman Center encompasses laboratories for biomedical and behavioral research, a brain imaging center, and a clinical biomanufacturing facility for the production of pharmaceuticals for early stage human clinical trials. In addition to its research efforts, the Center provides an array of services to people with developmental disabilities, offers numerous educational and outreach programs to young children and their families, and trains scientists and clinicians who will serve our nation in the future.
The Waisman Laboratory for Brain Imaging PET Lab acquires positron emission tomography (PET) scans on a daily basis. Our research focuses on developing and translating novel PET methods for the study of neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration. A Research Technician in our lab will assist in the production of investigational radiotracers for the study of Alzheimer's disease and other related neurodegenerative diseases.

Responsibilities: |
Conducts research experiments with limited supervision. Provides technical support with some degree of independence for research projects and/or labs under moderate supervision.
- 25% Performs lab and/or field test materials and samples according to established research requirements and specifications. Performs lab or field tests
- 30% Inspects and maintains equipment, supplies, inventory, and facility spaces
- 30% Collects data and monitors test results according to established research requirements and specifications
- 15% Prepare for chemical syntheses by assembling materials, cleaning chemistry robots, and preparing paperwork.

Education: |
Required Associate's Degree or higher in a STEM or related field.
Preferred Bachelor's Degree in a STEM or related field.

Qualifications: |
Well qualified candidates will have the required experience: - 2 years work in a STEM environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to prioritize tasks. - Ability to use common Microsoft software programs, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Well qualified applicants will have the preferred experence: - Prior experience in a research lab. Relevant student experience will be considered. - Ability to read and write programming languages with LabVIEW, Matlab, and/or Python.

Additional Information: |
Must complete HIPAA and receive certification within the first 5 days of employment and annually thereafter within 5 days of notification.
