Job Summary:
The External Affairs Team at the University of Wisconsin Law School seeks an experienced communications professional to serve as the communications associate director. As a national leader and innovator in legal education, UW Law School boasts a dynamic external affairs team that manages communications, public relations, alumni relations, events, web design/content, and annual fundraising. This position will serve as a senior leader in External Affairs and advisor to the Associate Dean for External Affairs. The associate director will create and manage internal and external communications strategies. This role will also supervise the communications and web design staff in the department and work in partnership with the Associate Director of Outreach and Branding and the events team. The person in this position will be responsible for establishing relationships with media outlets, developing and executing strategic marketing plans, advising on web content and social media, and handing public relations issues that arise internally and externally.
Responsibilities:
Assists with communications strategic planning and execution. Implements communications plans in support of the institutional goals and objectives.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have experience managing a multi-level team, and a record of setting the tone for messaging and portraying an organization's values. Communications experience in higher education would be a plus but is not required for this role.

Work Type:
Full Time: 100% It is anticipated this position requires most work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Future remote work and/or a partial remote work agreement may be possible after the probationary period.

Minimum $60,000 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications Beginning salary will be commensurate with successful candidate's previous experience and qualifications.
