Job Summary:

Did you know that 4-H is the nation's largest youth serving organization? In Wisconsin, we're committed to providing opportunities for youth to learn life skills and engage youth in activities to increase their leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills.

This part-time position will provide general support for the Rock County 4-H program and Extension Rock County office functions. Primary responsibilities include communications, database management, and project coordination. This position will serve as a resource to manage 4-H enrollment information, prepare reports and other strategic communications at the request of the 4-H Educator.

Responsibilities: Provides administrative support for a department, group of professionals, or to the manager of a work group consisting of professional staff and subordinate supervisors in support of unit goals, under general supervision
  • 10% Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
  • 30% Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
  • 20% Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
  • 20% Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
  • 20% Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Required
-Demonstrated experience with standard office software programs such as the Microsoft suite and Google suite;
-Ability to communicate effectively and accurately;
-Strong organization skills and attention to detail;
-Evidence of effectively working independently and in a team environment; and
- Ability to interact and work with a range of individuals with a high-level of professionalism, flexibility, judgement and tact.

Preferred:
-Work experience in a fast-paced, dynamic and professional environment;
-Experience prioritizing and executing complex, multifaceted projects;
-Event and educational program planning skills; and
-Ability to develop and design high-quality, visually appealing graphic materials.
