Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for clinical and translational research related to immunologic or rheumatologic diseases, providing patient care, and teaching to a variety of learners. The majority of the position will be devoted to the development/maintenance of an independent research program. Protected time will be provided with an expectation that the candidate will either come with extramural funding or procure it within the first 3 years of employment.

Responsibilities:

- Patient care will involve both outpatient clinics and inpatient consultation for children with rheumatologic conditions.
- This position will be responsible for clinical and translational research related to immunologic or rheumatologic diseases. Protected time (~50%) will be provided for research, educational and administrative activities.
- Academic responsibilities will include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Academic duties and responsibilities beyond baseline faculty expectations will depend on individual interests and expertise. The Department of Pediatrics, the School of Medicine and Public Health, and the University of Wisconsin offer an exceptional environment in which to establish and grow a robust academic career.

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

M.D, D.O, or equivalent

Qualifications:

Completion of US pediatric residency and pediatric rheumatology fellowship programs. Interest in translational research and academic medicine, involving teaching to a variety of learners is essential.

Experience in an academic medical setting preferred.

Candidates must possess clinical and academic credentials sufficient for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank at the CHS Track that have been previously established by UW School of Medicine and Public Health Guidelines. Appointment as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor will require that candidate's credentials meet criteria for rank established by UW School of Medicine and Public Health Guidelines.

Candidates for Assistant or Associate Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.
