The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS) has built a world-class reputation for compassionate patient care, innovative research, and hands-on training programs for resident physicians and clinical fellows. We are seeking candidates for a cellular immunologist and Uveitis specialist on the tenure track to develop an independent research program, perform patient care, and teach medical students, residents, clinical fellows, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows. Clinical activities will include patient care at local UW Health clinic locations and potentially the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran's Hospital. The clinical and surgical workload will account for 25 percent full-time equivalent of the appointment with 75 percent of the work week protected for research endeavors.

Responsibilities: |
1. Research in the area of cellular immunology related to the eye. 2. Mentoring and training of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. 3. Patient Care at UW Health Clinics and potentially William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran's Hospital 4. Development and execution of patient care programs in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases (medical and surgical) 5. Fellow, resident and medical student clinical education in the clinic and operating room.
The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
