The Business Systems Analyst will serve a vital role within the Administrative Transformation Program (ATP), a dynamic initiative on campus. The ATP can be thought of as an umbrella program that will encompass various initiatives to ensure all are aligned in advancing the University of Wisconsin's mission by engaging staff and building an intuitive, intelligent and innovative work environment. The research enterprise at the UW will be impacted by two ATP initiatives. There will be the ERP implementation that will culminate in a cloud-based software to serve as the new finance and post-award grant administration infrastructure. In addition, there will be the Research Administration Modernization Project (RAMP) that will focus on the implementation of a modernized software platform that will serve as the new system to support pre-award, non-financial post-award, and other research administration activities. The Gamm Lab is seeking a Research Specialist to evaluate transplanted human pluripotent stem cell-derived photoreceptors in animal models of retinal disease using functional testing and histological methods for a current project which aims to use retinal lineage cells derived from these pluripotent sources to test cell replacement strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in biological sciences research, experience with imaging techniques such as confocal microscopy, tissue sectioning, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry, genotyping, stereology and other cell counting methods. Previous experience working with rodents is highly preferred.
