The Wisconsin Crop Innovation Center (WCIC) building is a 100,000 square foot agricultural biotechnology/greenhouse complex. The building houses state-of-the-art transgenic plant laboratories and greenhouses which support unprecedented scientific advancement opportunities and improves plants for humans, livestock, and the environment. The center has a high throughput transformation pipeline and molecular department capable of generating and testing transgenic and edited plants. The Center is in need of a Plant Analysis Coordinator for a wide variety of tasks associated with our plant transformation pipeline. This position is being created to have a primary role of a liaison between the three (GH, Production, MTD) teams to create plant analysis data, enter that into LIMS and share it with clients and the teams. The candidate for this position will familiarize themselves with the current protocols for sampling and plant analysis in MTD, including PCR, nucleic acid isolation, and copy number determination. The candidate will also work on protocol development to find faster and cheaper methods to generate data, develop new services, such as the validation gene edits for clients and R&D, and cross train with the three teams to become familiar with plant transformation, greenhouse functions, and additional molecular support.
